Living Love in Action

“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions” – 1 John 3:18

District Conference for the Pacific Northwest District Church of the Brethren is approaching, and we hope you’ll join us!

District Conference is an opportunity for District members to come together to reflect on the past year of District life as well as discern together the future for our collection of congregations. Additionally, there will be programs and activities to foster spiritual exploration and nurture our community connections.

The theme for this year’s conference will be “Living Love in Action,” drawn from 1 John 3:18, which reads “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions” (NLT).

How can we, as a District, live into this call to live our love in action?

How can we enliven this spirit of active love in our congregations and as individuals?

Conference setting

This year’s conference will be a hybrid conference, with District members gathering both online and in-person. The in-person conference will be held at Camp Koinonia in Cle Elum, Washington (https://campkoinonia.org/). Camp Koinonia, one of the Pacific Northwest District’s camps, is nestled in beautiful wooded nature, providing an enriching environment for our spiritual, community, and church-business discussions and activities.

Pre-conference session

Beginning the afternoon of Thursday, October 12th, we will have a pre-conference session open to pastors, licensed and ordained ministers, and ministry leaders. This session will focus on how we can cultivate and nurture love-in-action communities through ministerial leadership.

Pre-conference session begins Thursday, October 12th at 3:00pm PDT

• Welcome and registration begins at 1:30pm PDT
• Program sessions Thursday afternoon and Friday morning

District Conference begins Friday, October 13th at 3:00pm PDT

• Welcome and registration begins at 1:30pm PDT
• Program sessions Friday afternoon and Saturday morning
• Business session Saturday afternoon
• Worship service Sunday morning

District Conference concludes Sunday, October 15th at 11:30am PDT

Registration

Attendees can participate either online through Zoom or in-person at Camp Koinonia in Cle Elum, Washington.

Registration for online participation is free. Registration costs for in-person attendance at Camp Koinonia cover overnight lodging and meals.

Standard registration options are available below. If attending both the pre-conference session and District Conference, be sure to register for both sections for each attendee. If you require a more customized registration option (e.g., departing Camp Koinonia Saturday evening), email pnwdcob@gmail.com with your needs, and we can create a pro-rated registration option for you.
